Bunker Blues Intergenerational Project

During August 2012 the team worked with girls and young women aged 10 – 25 from Cowgate and the surrounding area. Through a series of practical drama and singing workshops we explored the role of young women today compared with that in the 1940s. The group visited older women in sheltered accommodation in Cowgate and North Shields and took part in intergenerational workshops, sharing songs, stories and memories from WWII. The material collected from these workshops was used to develop the production, Bunker Blues.
